refectory pageThe ante-camera of the Cathedral Museum on the right-hand side leads to a small passage underneath the Grand Staircase. This corridor also leads to the largest space on the ground floor of the Cathedral Museum.  Very little of the original construction of the Museum building has been altered since Baroque times; the refectory in particular remains virtually intact. In fact this space still houses two rows of eighteenth-century wood benches, where the seminarists met at meal times.  The elegant ceiling is barrel-vaulted, with four windows on each side between pendentives.
