GH 2Ġulja Holland (b.1990, Naxxar, Malta) makes mixed media artworks. Her style explores a new mental projection of aesthetics influenced by Post-editing applications such as Photoshop and Instagram.

Her recent portraiture has moved away from the genres' traditional representative constraints through the passage of movement, rejecting the notion of actuality in favour of a discordant perspective processed by subjectivity and time.

These movements reveal an inherent awkwardness, a humour that echoes her subjects' vulnerabilities in their unawareness.

Holland currently lives in Leeds, UK and is reading for a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at Leeds College of Art.
