Patrick Dalli was born in Malta in 1955. Primarily self-taught during his teenage years up to 1995, he was mainly interested in landscape, still-life, and portraiture. In 1995, he began his formal education under the tutorship of Anton Calleja, with whom his artistic training focused on the study of the human figure. It was during these very active years that Dalli concentrated his practice on painting the nude. In the following years, Dalli attended life-drawing sessions. He participated in collective exhibitions in Malta and abroad, exhibiting nudes, landscapes and still-life paintings. In 2002, he organised his first personal exhibition, The Human Figure, at Gallerija Liberta', Valletta. Between 2002 and 2004 he worked on the paintings for the exhibition Patrick Dalli - Nudes, which was also held at Gallerija Liberta' in Valletta. In 2005 his works were exhibited at Muska Gallery, followed by an exhibition of his drawings at B'Art Gallery in 2007. In 2008, the exhibition Patrick Dalli – Nudes was displayed at St. James Cavalier, and The Human Figure was held at the Malta National Museum of Fine Arts in 2010.
