Mario Gauci studied at the University of Malta achieving a Bachelor's Degree in Lib. Info. & Arch. Studies and an MA in Baroque Studies. He has been serving as Assistant Archivist for the Metropolitan Cathedral Archives in Mdina since March 2005. Prior to his current position, he worked for the Government Libraries Department, at the Biblioteca Nazionale in Valletta (2003) and Birkirkara library (2004). His research is focused on ecclesiastical archives. He took keen interest in the re-structural programme of the Cathedral Archives and has been recently appointed ex-ufficio member and secretary of the new board. In 2013 he was appointed secretary of the Mdina Biennale 2015.
